Lansing Regional Partners Open Letter to Greater Lansing Business Community
The impact of the COVID-19 crisis is being felt in every corner of our society. Priority No. 1 during the crisis is protecting the public’s health and safety. The far-reaching impact of COVID-19 is also being felt by businesses both large and small, all of whom have had their operations curtailed or shutdown. Those businesses face an uncertain future after this crisis has passed, which threatens the quality of life we have come to enjoy in the Lansing region.
With this in mind, 27 area business organizations have joined together to support businesses in the tri-county region. Through a series of weekly conference calls, the Lansing Regional Partners have identified resources that are available to support businesses and discussed ways to raise awareness as to how the community can offer their support.
Below, is an open letter the Lansing Regional Partners has sent to the business community, offering their continued support:
Greater Lansing Business Community:
Without question, the COVID-19 pandemic represents a unique set of circumstances that challenges us all. Like you, our first concern is for the health and safety of our families, friends, colleagues and particularly for those most in need during this crisis. We are also very appreciative for the work of our health care providers and other first responders who are working courageously to keep us all safe.
We have a very high awareness of the stress that our business community is dealing with during these trying times. The COVID-19 crisis has delivered an unexpected disruption to our job providers, creating uncertainty, threatening the financial viability of many businesses and raising concerns for employees and their families.
Recognizing the unique difficulties this crisis has created, our organizations have come together to provide resources and support for our business community. Through a series of weekly conference calls, we have identified resources that are available to support your businesses and discussed ways that we can raise awareness as to how the community can offer their support.
Equally as important, we are discussing ways in which we can support our business community as we emerge from the crisis – and we will emerge! It will not be easy, but we will come back stronger than ever.
We also want to commend you for your contributions to this region. The investment you have made is a key driver in our region’s success. The spirit you are demonstrating in supporting others in need during the COVID-19 crisis is admirable. You are the reason the Greater Lansing region will not only survive this challenging time, but also thrive in the months and years to come.
Finally, please know that we are here for you. As we continue during the difficult days and weeks ahead, feel free to reach out to any of our organizations for support. You are the reason we all exist, and our region depends on your continued success.
Sincerely,
