Lansing Regional Chamber of Commerce to Celebrate Small Business Saturday® with Local Small Businesses
LANSING, Mich. – The Lansing Regional Chamber of Commerce (LRCC) is honored to support the small business community in the Greater Lansing region for Small Business Saturday, taking place this Saturday, Nov. 30.
Created in 2010 by American Express, the annual observance occurs the Saturday after Thanksgiving and supports small businesses nationwide to create a local and positive economic impact during the holiday season.
“Our local small businesses are vital to the economic strength and vibrancy of our community,” said Bridget Drzal, vice president of member engagement, LRCC. “We encourage all shoppers to do the bulk of their holiday shopping locally, not only supporting our region’s businesses but also keeping those dollars in our communities.”
Shopping small makes a difference and has a significant impact throughout our community. The LRCC encourages residents to visit local and independently-owned stores – particularly those with ‘Shop Small’ branding – this Saturday and purchase various goods and services.
“This year, we also encourage everyone to go the extra mile to support businesses located in construction zones,” Drzal added. “These businesses face unique challenges and rely heavily on the support of their community. Making the effort to shop in these areas sends a powerful message of solidarity and commitment to our local entrepreneurs.”
“It is so important for us to continue to participate in the Small Business Saturday campaign as more than 80% of our Chamber membership is comprised of small businesses with 15 employees or less,” said Drzal. “Our small business owners and entrepreneurs are the lifeblood and soul of our community, and we are proud to support them through partnerships like Small Business Saturday.”
The LRCC supports Small Business Saturday as a “Neighborhood Champion,” encouraging everyone to shop small and make an impact on the local economy.
