Lansing, Mich. – Five organizations will be honored for their commitment to the Lansing region at the 19th annual Celebration of Regional Growth (CORG) Awards, taking place Wednesday, Nov. 6 at the Kellogg Center Hotel and Conference Center in East Lansing. This year’s CORG honorees include Amazon, Capital Area Housing Partnership, Grewal Hall at 224, Midwest Ace and Midwest Press & Automation. All five organizations are being recognized for investments that are making a positive impact throughout the region.

The luncheon will take place as part of Lansing Regional Chamber of Commerce’s monthly Lansing Economic Club speaker series. This year’s luncheon is sponsored by PNC Bank and Foster Swift. with Consumers Energy serving as the video sponsor.

2024 CORG Award Honorees:

Amazon is being recognized for its newest fulfillment center in Michigan, LAN2, and the first Amazon site in Delta Township. The Delta Township Amazon opened on June 30, 2024. Construction on LAN2 began in 2021. The Inbound Cross Dock facility is 1-million square feet. It is approximately equivalent to 14 football fields. Currently, there are more than 1,800 full and part-time hourly and salaried employees working across four different shifts.  The Delta Township facility serves as a reception for inventory, predominantly from small and medium-sized selling partners. Amazon uses these sites to receive and consolidate inventory into bulk shipments before it is transported to various fulfillment centers nearby that fulfill and ship customer orders.

Capital Area Housing Partnership (CAHP) is being recognized for its $35 million Walter French redevelopment project, which is a transformative initiative aimed at addressing affordable housing and childcare shortages in Greater Lansing. By repurposing the historic Walter H. French Junior High School, CAHP is not only revitalizing a landmark but also delivering critical community services. For over 30 years, CAHP has embraced a comprehensive approach to housing. The non-profit has built and rehabilitated over 600 single-family homes, created and preserved over 500 affordable rental units, and guided thousands of families and individuals toward financial stability and secure housing.

Grewal Hall at 224 is being recognized for its investment in downtown Lansing as a venue that can accommodate concerts, weddings, corporate events, charity events, trade shows and more. With a standing room capacity of 900 and over 12,000 square feet, Grewal Hall at 224 can entertain parties of up to 225 in formal banquet seating and 400 in a theater seating arrangement.

Midwest Press & Automation LLC (MPA) is being recognized for the further expansion of its current location in Lansing. Continuing its long history of growth, the new addition will feature an attached 5,600 sq. ft. electrical controls department with overhead crane and a brand-new compressor room. Since its founding in 2010, MPA has led with its main pillar of integrity and its journey has been characterized by continuous growth, adaptation, and innovation, positioning them as a reliable and forward-thinking company in the metal forming service/support industry.

Midwest Ace is being recognized for its investment in a new location in Haslett. Midwest Ace (Midwest) is proud to be recognized for its latest investment in the Lansing Region with its new state of the art power equipment and hardware facility. Midwest most recently rebranded from Midwest Power Equipment with their expansion on Saginaw and Marsh Rd. in Haslett. A second location is slated to open on the corner of Okemos and Jolly Rd. this December. As a locally owned business specializing in power equipment and hardware, Midwest has earned a reputation for delivering exceptional service and expertise. With an expanded range of hardware offerings, the business continues to serve the community with all house renovation, preservation and outdoor needs. The new facility boasts a spacious showroom, well-stocked parts department, knowledgeable service team and convenient pickup and delivery options—ensuring an enjoyable shopping experience for customers. Dedicated to serving the needs of its community, Midwest Ace has become a trusted resource for all power equipment and hardware-related solutions. The CORG Awards is an annual event presented by the Lansing Regional Chamber of Commerce, through the Lansing Economic Club. Tickets are $55 for Chamber members, $75 for non-members and $425 for a table of eight. Registration information can be found at lansingchamber.org.
