(Lansing, MI) – The Lansing Regional Chamber of Commerce (LRCC) is excited to announce the opening of nominations for three prestigious community awards including the Outstanding Small Business, Community Service and Diversity Star Awards, which will be presented at the LRCC Annual Dinner this spring.

Since 1982, the LRCC has presented the Outstanding Small Business Award to recognize a local small business that embodies stability, innovation, a commitment to community, perseverance, and diversity.

First awarded in 1948, the Community Service Award celebrates outstanding individuals who go above and beyond in giving their time and expertise to the community. These individuals demonstrate excellence, creativity, and initiative in all they do, serving as an inspiration to the Lansing region.

“The LRCC Annual Dinner Awards provide a platform to showcase the incredible talent and dedication within our business community,” said Tim Daman, president and CEO, LRCC. “It is a moment to honor those who have made significant contributions to the economic vitality and overall well-being of the Lansing region.”

The LRCC and the Lansing Economic Area Partnership (LEAP) have joined forces to create the Diversity Star Award, introduced to recognize organizations championing diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) in the workplace and the Lansing regional community, highlighting efforts to foster a more inclusive environment.

“The Diversity Star award underscores the importance of fostering an inclusive business community, where diverse voices and perspectives contribute to our collective success,” said Tony Willis, chief equity development Officer, LEAP. “Diversity, equity, and inclusion are essential pillars for a thriving business community and this award celebrates the strides we have made and serves a reminder of the work yet to be done to ensure equality and opportunity for all in the Lansing region.”

Award nominations forms for the Outstanding Small Business, Community Service, and Diversity Star Awards can be found and submitted on the Lansing Regional Chamber of Commerce website at lansingchamber.org/signature-events/. The deadline to submit a nomination is Friday, Feb. 16.
