Four Regional Businesses Honored at
Lansing Chamber’s Celebration of Regional Growth
Firms Recognized for Contribution to the
Economic Growth and Advancement of the Lansing Region
Four businesses that have made major investments in the regional economy were recognized for their contributions today at the fifth annual Celebration of Regional Growth luncheon. Several hundred people attended the luncheon, hosted by the Lansing Regional Chamber of Commerce (LRCC).
“We are pleased to honor these four firms that have been instrumental in the growth of the Lansing area,” said LRCC President and CEO Tim Daman. “They demonstrate a commitment and entrepreneurial spirit for others to follow, continuing the advancement and progression of the area. Together, they are helping to create enthusiasm for the Lansing area, making it a wonderful place to be.”
The four companies honored at today’s Celebration of Regional Growth Luncheon were:

Accident Fund Insurance Company of America which is investing $125 million in a new world headquarters on the banks of the Grand River. The new seven-acre campus will be the centerpiece of Lansing’s greatly revitalized downtown community through the renovation of the Ottawa Street Power Station, one of downtown Lansing’s most distinctive landmarks. .

Dean Transportation which has redefined transportation opportunities throughout the state, specifically for individuals with disabilities. Dean commits to improving the environment through cleaner school bus fleets and company-wide practices to reduce engine exhaust emissions and conserve fuel. Dean and its employees are also dedicated to philanthropy by currently assisting more than two dozen worthwhile non-profit endeavors in the community.

HRU, Inc. – Technical Resources is headquartered in Lansing and is committed to placing talented workers in industries such as IT, engineering, and federal contracting as well as placements in the automotive, defense and higher education industries. HRU recently landed a $26 million contract with the U.S. Army to continue to provide the Army with manufacturing support which is expected to secure more than 150 jobs.

A Celebration of Regional Growth is an annual event presented by the LRCC. This year’s luncheon was sponsored by PNC Bank, Loomis, Ewert, Parsley, and David & Gotting P.C.
